So one of the Yentas at my office started arguing with my brother about how Asian food places make their rice so sticky. 

He explained to her that it is due to the length of the grain (a point he learned from me, who learned it from Fuzzy).  She argued that he was wrong, and that all chinese food places put mayonnaise into their rice to make it sticky.  She eventually left the table in a huff.

Why do people bother to argue when they KNOW they are wrong?  What's the point?

I should reference the point that this woman got her eyes corrected via surgery, and told everyone she saw a haze around all lites at nite (not because she actually saw the haze, but because she heard other people saw something and didn't want to be left out).

Ugh.
